About us

We began our journey in 2015 with team of 8 athletes. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength under the word of our passionate and involved club president, Ruby Beard. In the 2017 we boasted 2 competitive cheerleading teams, a group stunt, and a captivating hip hop team, who came 5th at the National Competition. 2018 was our strongest season yet, with teams competing in Level 1, 2 and 3 All-Star divisions at a national level, with our Level 2 team being runner-up national champions in the Small Open Level 2 Division.

In 2019, we’re lucky to have had Phoenix take us under their wing. The athletes of the Adelaide University team have access to the incredible coaches, tumbling classes, 7 run sprung floor, tumble track and more that Phoenix have to offer.

We’re also part of the larger Adelaide University Blacks Gymnastics and Cheerleading Club. In addition to the tumbling facilities at our Phoenix home, our athletes are welcome at gymnastics training at the Marion Fitness and Leisure Centre (YMCA). The Marion location boasts a sprung floor, tumbling trampolines, foam pit, bars, beam and more.

Our club has a strong focus on developing athlete’s abilities from the basics to advanced skills in both cheerleading and dancing with a supportive coaching team. We pride ourselves on welcoming athletes to our club and this is reflective in how much our club has grown since inception in 2015!

In 2019, we will be competing in 6 competitions throughout the year, including the AASCF National Championships, at the Melbourne Convention Centre in November.

We are South Australia’s premier University Cheerleading team, and will compete in the scholastic division.
